Mary Immaculate College (MIC) is pleased to announce a programme of dynamic and innovative events to celebrate Engineers Week 2025, taking place on the Limerick Campus from 1 March to 7 March.
Curated by MIC's Department of Enterprise and Community Engagement, Engineers Week features a variety of STEM outreach activities to captivate and educate participants of all ages.
The CRAFT Maker Space at MIC will host a series of engaging workshops and shows designed to inspire and educate primary school students about the world of engineering. This year's events promise a dynamic lineup of hands-on workshops and activities designed to inspire and educate children about the fascinating world of engineering.
Dr Maeve Liston, Director of Enterprise & Community Engagement at MIC, shared her enthusiasm ahead of Engineers Week: "We are delighted to welcome so many young minds to our campus for a week of STEM fun and learning. This year's events focus on the Engineering Design Process (EDP) and developing children's Engineering Habits of Mind (EHoM), encouraging participants to think like engineers through prototyping, building, testing, and re-testing."

Friday 28 February - Bricks 4 Kidz LEGO® Workshops: Kick off the week with fun and interactive LEGO® sessions for First and Second classes on.

Monday 3 March - Brick Legends LEGO® Workshops: Older children can join the excitement on, with more advanced LEGO® activities.
- Tuesday 4 March - Inclusive Eco-Playground Workshop: The CRAFT maker space team, led by Dr Maeve Liston, is delivering Let’s Build an Inclusive Eco-Playground Workshop—aa workshop exploring natural materials and simple machine mechanisms found in playgrounds.

Thursday 6 March - Explore Engineering Exhibition: Visit the CRAFT Maker Space interactive stand at the hugely anticipated ‘Explore Engineering’ Exhibition at Shannon Airport for a showcase of innovative engineering projects.
- Friday 7 March - Bridge Design Workshop: The CRAFT Maker Space have collaborated with the Xplore Hub of the FET division of Limerick Clare ETB, to design, build, and test model bridges. The Xplore Hub are bringing the latest advancements in robotic technology to the space, for pupils to explore and to use as part of their engineering challenge that will have them designing, building, and testing model bridges. This will be a combination of physics and structural design work, through hands-on activities.
Ireland’s annual STEPs Engineers Week aims to engage everyone in STEM promoting engineering and the importance of the profession in Ireland.
