MIC's first Research Week is taking place from the 11th to the 18th of February 2022 at Mary Immaculate College (MIC) via the Microsoft Teams platform.
Normally an annual one day occurrence celebrating research activity, this showcase has now expanded to comprise a week of exciting research-related events including a number of keynote speakers and contributors in areas such as:
- Research Integrity
- Research assessment developments in Europe
- Open Research and changing norms in research publication
- The Irish ORCID Consortium and unique persistent digital identifiers
- Current best practice in doctoral supervision
A plenary roundtable event "Diversity and Research" will focus on research activity in the context of EDII themes and will be hosted by MIC's new Director of Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Interculturalism - Dr Lorraine McIlrath.
There will also be a number of events showcasing current research by MIC staff and postgraduate research students, new projects, recent accomplishments and research ideas.
According to Prof. Michael Healy, Vice President Research at MIC:
"Recognising the importance of research in the careers of those setting out on academic pathways, whether in postgraduate research or at staff early researcher level, Research Week 2022 will incorporate a substantial component of research skills training across several ‘Research Skills for Early Career Researchers’ sessions, along with a seminar offering editorial insights for those planning to publish in international peer reviewed journals and a special workshop on how to write competitive funding applications".
The schedule of events including MS Teams Meeting links can be found here and all are welcome to join.
If you require additional information on this event, please contact RGSO@mic.ul.ie.
